Dr. Michael J. Rensing was Executive Director / Director of the Low Carbon Fuels Branch at the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation from 2008 to 2022, where he served as the primary architect and strategic lead of British Columbia's Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) — one of North America's most successful performance-based programs.
He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Victoria, was awarded the 2021 BC Bioenergy Network Sector Champion Award, and now serves as President of MJ Rensing Consulting Inc.
